Becoming a professional dancer was a tough experience but a very empowering learning process, where she discovered something very important: Music and dance are one, somehow. But even if apart, none of the two could ever be absent to her, visible or not, hearable or not. She has always been passionate about dancing, sensing the sounds with all her cells, becoming addicted to the flush and ecstasy, when connecting to the music through movement, and the hunger, to become the very source of its creation.

 

About her songwriting

Most of her songs are born with the poetry and thoughts she writes down. Sometimes there are moments, when time and space become irrelevant for a little while. Maybe driving with the s-Bahn, or before working, or waiting for someone, when she isn´t busy with doing something, she is busy with thinking about a million things. She has been writing since the age of 13, and in some moment she began writing lyrics, long before she started experimenting with music. “All the necessary had been previously unfolding unconsciously”.

Reflecting on society, human behavior, life stories and themes find her, about our world, its beauty and cruelty, its structures and patterns, seeking for the ones, about change for the better, sewing it into her poetry, contemplating on mystical stuff as well as philosophical topics, existence, living, freedom a.m.o.

There isn’t a fixed formula in how she composes yet. As singing is her most powerful tool, she often starts working with the lyrics. Finding a certain rhythm, emotion, texture, atmosphere and space with it. Then she would maybe search for sound and build up a beat, experimenting with patterns, till she found the right vibe. With Piano becoming more elemental in her composition style, she is searching for suspending sounds, and spherical synths,  and internationals instruments, coming to live in the electronical music world, slowly putting together the bones, flesh and organs, for her lyrics to become their soul.

Percussive beats, chanting, piano and electronical sounds are essential to her creation. Atmospheric and spatial textures most interest her. It has to be a sound resonating within her body, feeling it blur into hidden places. An emotional storyline, will emerge, truthful, accompanied in music, like a whole little world around, with the corners, lines and circles, with soft parts and rough ones, but somehow altogether as one body.

She spends lots of time with a song, till it is finished. It has to become multi-dimensional in its own unique way, in order to build its light and vibrations that are able to move and travel far and beyond.

 

Musical Influences

​

During her childhood, music was her space to escape from everything, to dream and bloom with the rhythms, colorful synths and harmonies.

Since she could speak, she loved to use her voice in singing and telling stories. Singers like Whitney Houston, Christina Aguilera, Alicia Keys were the ones to accompany her youth, emotionally holding her and musically inspiring her, with the colors, beauty, love and power in pop music of the 1990s and 2000’s.

Artists like Björk have inspired her, in terms of the diversity and purity in their music. Singers like Silvia Perez Cruz, she admires for their precision in chanting and its emotional richness. Composers like Colleen, Phillip Glass and many others, for the spirit of their musical arrangements, their rhythmical and melodical diversity, their musical flow and dynamics. And electronical sounds by f.ex. Deorbiting, Ira Atari, their variety of textures bound together into an ongoing journey of rhythm, sounds, harmonies and the landscapes they keep building.
